What Causes Wrats?

Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). There are many types of HPV, and different types cause different types of warts. Common warts (verruca vulgaris) are usually caused by HPV types 2 and 4, while warts (verruca vulgaris) are usually caused by HPV type. 1.

Treating warts usually involves procedures to remove the warts themselves, but because the HPV is still present after warts have disappeared, it is still susceptible to infection.
